Taverny (95), Val-d'Oise
The Simone Veil Hospital is carrying out a major project: creating a new Psychiatry and Addictology center designed to serve a vast territory encompassing eight municipalities in Val‑d'Oise — Montigny‑lès‑Cormeilles, Franconville, Le Plessis‑Bouchard, Taverny, Beauchamp, Saint‑Leu‑la‑Forêt, Bessancourt and Frépillon. After studying the possibilities, the institution ultimately chose to locate this future center in Taverny, within a building from the 1970s.
This building, originally designed to house offices, must now be entirely re-adapted to meet the specific needs of a modern psychiatric and addiction service. The intervention aims to transform this existing heritage into a sustainable, comfortable and functional place of care. It focuses as much on quality of use as on thermal comfort, by integrating technical and architectural solutions capable of extending the life of the building.
The rehabilitation will improve patient reception, modernize interior atmospheres, enhance accessibility, upgrade thermal and structural performance, and integrate the expectations of medical staff. The entire project is guided by a commitment to cost control, particularly by optimizing the future operation of the facility.
Thus, beyond a simple renovation, the goal is to restore meaning and efficiency to an existing building, transforming it into a suitable, soothing, and sustainable care facility.
