Les Pavillons-Sous-Bois (93), Seine-Saint-Denis
The geothermal project envisioned by the cities of Les Pavillons-sous-Bois and Bondy marks a decisive step in their energy transition. Supported by SIPPEREC, drawing on its experience in this field, the two municipalities have chosen to join forces to meet the requirements of the Tertiary Decree and sustainably reduce their energy consumption. The studies conducted have revealed the scale of the needs and confirmed the relevance of a single geothermal plant, capable of supplying all the public facilities of both territories.
The selected site, located in Les Pavillons-sous-Bois, offers the best conditions for reaching the Dogger aquifer, whose hot water, captured at nearly 1,700 meters depth, will constitute the main resource for the future district heating network. The plant, situated on a plot of over 5,000 m² near the Ourcq canal, will be organized around several production and reinjection wells, designed to preserve the thermal balance of the underground reservoir.
This major project includes a reconfiguration of access points, notably the widening of allée Vincent, which will become the main entrance to the site. Around the power plant, a new urban development will take shape: pedestrian pathways, open perspectives toward the canal, public squares and dedicated access to neighboring sports facilities. The latter will house an aquatic center with five swimming lanes as well as a multi-sport hall on the upper level, offering a coherent and modern complex serving the residents.
Thus, beyond the sole production of heat, the geothermal plant is part of a broader transformation of the neighborhood, combining energy transition, urban requalification and improvement of public services. It symbolizes the will of the two cities to build a more sustainable, more efficient future better adapted to the needs of their users.
